Uruguay: Competition Commission will review lawsuit against Agriculture and Cattle Ministry
Uruguay’s Competition Commission, part of the Economics and Finance Ministry, has said it will review a complaint issued by the company Datamars against the Agriculture, Cattle and Fisheries Ministry (MGAP). The complaint concerns MGAP’s international auction for the supply of cattle identification caravans.
Datamars’ complaint before the MEF argues that, by using an excessive weighting of previous contests, the process was biased towards the incumbent supplier of this resource, which impeded other companies from fairly competing for the contract.
The complaint was presented in early September, soon after the contest’s results were revealed.
