Spanish competition regulators CNMC has announced the results of an investigation begun in April 2014 on bus operators Roig Bus SA, Transacobo SL and Transunión Mallorca SL, as well as the Balearic Transport Enterprise Federation (FEBT), during which it detected “rational indications” of violations to European competition laws.
The violations detected include price fixing, niche market divisions and the exchange of confidential information regarding the passenger transport industry in Spain’s Balearic Island chain.
As a result, the CNMC has issued sanctions against the FEBT, as well as a dozen of bus and tour operators, including San Antonio, S.A., Autocares Alcas, S.L., Autocares Alorda, S.L., Autocares Caldentey, S.L., Autocares Levante, S.L., Autocares Norte, S.A., Autocares Pujol Palmer, S.A., Autocares Rafael Nadal, S.L., Autocares Roca, s.l., Ibizatours & Islandbus, S.L., Jose Canovas Autocares, S.L., Transacobo, S.L., Transunion Mallorca, S.L., Roig Bus, S.A., Ultramar Express Tranport, S.A.U. and ESR, a private contractor.
