Spanish competition regulator CNMC has carried out dawn raids on the 17, 18 and 19 of May targeting companies in the electrification and electromechanical railway equipment sector, including signalling systems. The regulator’s inspectors acted under suspicion of agreements for the manipulation and distribution of government tenders.
The new inspections are part of the investigation opened by the CNMC after the first home inspections carried out during July 2016 and January 2017 at the headquarters of several companies operating in the aforementioned market.
Inspections are a preliminary step in the investigation process of alleged anticompetitive behavior and do not prejudge the outcome of the investigation or the guilt of the companies inspected.
