Mexico’s Grupo Lala, has completed the acquisition of the Mú! milk products brand, ramping up competition in the Costa Rican dairy market, dominated by local company Dos Pinos.
The purchase is part of the expansion plans of Grupo Lala, seeking to attract more customers, with Mu! joining different segmentation strategies alongside six types of milk already operated by Lala in Costa Rica.
The change is seen as a positive move for consumers in Costa Rica, who consume an average of more than 200 liters a year – above international recommendations, representing a very attractive market for the milk industry.
