Marjolein De Backer practices in the areas of antitrust and competition law, with a focus on the airline, energy and natural resources, IT and financial services industries. Ms. De Backer has significant experience advising multinational companies on merger control, abuse of dominant position cases, cartel investigations and state aid issues before the EU, UK, and Belgian authorities and courts. Prior to joining Dechert, Ms. De Backer served as an associate at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. Her previous experience also includes working as a public policy advisor at Insurance Europe in Belgium and serving as an associate at Linklaters.
